A tribute to all those Bloggers standing like a rock for truth
I thought this was a fitting tribute to everyone of you out there writing bravely for change and the marginalization of modern psychiatry and pharmaceutical industries.
I know each of you have been called everything from whack jobs, lone wolves, anti-psychiatry crazies, and even Scientologist in this many times thankless journey.
Yet, we write on in spite of the trials and tribulations with unyielding faith in the message of honest truth and change.
I wanted to step out and tip my hat in thanking each and everyone one of you out there in the bloggery world demanding without compromise; that justice be done in the name of humanity and the rights of the discarded victims of an industry that has lost its way in out of control profiteering/Greed, lack of ethical practice, criminal abuse of the very people they have taken a solemn oath to protect and serve, and self serving egocentric doctrines and doctors that have made a mockery of modern medicine.
It’s seems that our voices are beginning to be heard finally;
NY Times:
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/28/health/policy/28subpoena.html?_r=3&scp=1&sq=biederman&st=cse
Federal prosecutors have issued a subpoena seeking information about the work and statements of three prominent Harvard researchers who have been the focus of a Congressional investigation into conflicts of interest in medicine.
The researchers — Drs. Joseph Biederman, Thomas Spencer and Timothy E. Wilens — are named in the subpoena, which was sent on Wednesday to Fletch Trammel, a lawyer who represents state attorneys general in lawsuits that claim makers of antipsychotic drugs defrauded state Medicaid programs by improperly marketing their medicines.
The three researchers have advocated increased use of antipsychotic medicines in children and have accepted lucrative consulting agreements from the drugs’ makers. Senator Charles E. Grassley, an Iowa Republican investigating conflicts of interest in medicine, found that each of the researchers had failed to report much of his consulting income to Harvard. Mr. Grassley has also said that Dr. Biederman and Dr. Wilens might have violated federal and university research rules. The controversy led Dr. Biederman to suspend his work with the drug industry.
The subpoena was issued by the Federal District Court for the Massachusetts District; it was sought by the United States attorney in Massachusetts, Michael J. Sullivan, and by the Health and Human Services Department inspector general, Daniel R. Levinson. The subpoena seeks all documents produced in litigation relating to the three researchers as well as transcripts of any depositions of them.
Mr. Trammel said he would “comply with the subpoena and facilitate the U.S. attorney’s investigation in any way I can.”
Peter Spivack, a lawyer for Dr. Biederman, and Mark Paoletta, a lawyer for Dr. Wilens and Dr. Spencer, said they were unaware of a subpoena.
A spokeswoman for Mr. Sullivan declined to comment on the investigation

Hmmm. Interesting. Well, you know what I think of Blibblebam: he's a fucking charlatan, as far as I'm concerned. Sadly, it wouldn't surprise me if this was "only" about money, rather than, erm, "interested" information laundering, shall we say?
Matt
Hey Stan;
I just can't blog that 'Son Of A Biederman' the way Stephany, Philip and Kim are doing it. My gag reflex is shot for this month.
And Short Fuse the Deposed is doing Such a Marvelous job of doing Himself, anyway.
I was scoping your links, and just wanted to be sure you knew that some of the Pharmalot commenters were up with their own blog now at

thanks for your writing too Stan, and for the video! I think Biederman doesn't give a crap about anything but his own image and he believes that in his world of close-minded Harvard collegues, so none of them will ever see beyond their bank accounts and "prestige".
Biederman's deposition speaks for itself with his arrogance, what he said about 1000's of employees at Harvard and he's about the only one that counts ...
I hope he has to pay every penny back while he sits in prison on Risperdal weaving baskets.
Not quite on subject but I think you may find this radio program of interest.

I think a video with the song, "Money" would have been appropriate although I do like the video that you posted.
I accept your gratitude and humble thanks for all of my work. I know that you were POINTING to me since Steph and I are the only regular readers of your blog.LOL
On a serious note, these doctors are no better than street corner drug dealers. No wait...street dealers are better. They don't feed you a bunch of bullshit about the drugs being good for you.
Good post, Stan.
Good post Stan the man.
