<--Do You Feel Like this?
When you really
want to feel like this -->
Male Hormone Replacement - Big Pharma and Solvay Pharmaceuticals are at it again mass marketing, popularizing, & main streaming diseases for profit.
DO YOU KNOW YOUR "T" ?
Are you getting a little older? Ever feel a little run down or tired? Do you sometimes feel the big "D" and blue? Are you not that spry young leg humping pup you used to be? Have you maybe gained a few pounds over the last several decades? Are you no longer able to leap tall building in a single bound, or stop a run away locomotive in it's tracks? Maybe you just don't have the same old marathon sexual energy you had when you were twenty something?
OK, where was I? (My "T "must be jumping around like popping corn on a camp fire or somethun) Now on with the story anywho.
I happened upon this TV commercial brought to you by none other than Solvay Pharmaceuticals the other day asking you the "maturing male" the question - "IS IT LOW T?"
Well when I heard the words "Low T"
This photo was pretty much the first thing that came to mind. But after going to the web site and finding no small people what so ever, I figured this was something that needed to be addressed here on my blog.
Well it appears Solvay Pharmaceuticals (a subsidiary of Abbott Corp. ) sure wants you to believe "Low T" is a huge health problem and emerging profitable market. Of course their commercial doesn't actually say what "Low T" is, or do they pimp/advertise their testosterone gel product in the TV commercial? (unless they hid it in such small print that it was not discernible or distinguishable to most viewers watching).
They just direct you to their web site (Is it Low T?) that has a really slick interactive format, and even one of those do it yourself screening test.
I took the screening test just for fun. Answering that I had no symptoms and checked "NO" on every question. Yet, I was still told at the end of the screening that I better get into to see my doctor for some further testing?
may be caused by treatable conditions."
I have to be honest here,
After taking this screening test
I was getting a wiener bit
concerned that my dog wasn't going to be placing any high marks @ the manly races.
This even gets better when you carefully read the warnings and side effect profile for this "T" drug.
Is it possible that your beautiful young daughter
could start out looking
<---- like this
And once you give her your loving T- Gel hug before going off to school
She ends up looking like this ---->
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
AndroGel can transfer from your body to others. This can happen if other people come into contact with the area where the AndroGel was applied to your skin.
It appears WebMD is in the dirty and misleading testosterone marketing game as well (do you wonder who getting paid well to run "Low T" ads on their site? Couldn't be any conflict of interest here?). The test on their site is quite a bit more in-depth than "Abbott Pharmaceuticals" . So again I took the test just for fun. Once again I answered across the board that I had no symptoms (even though the test is designed in such a way that is quite misleading and tilted toward finding some form of "Low T" diagnosis which requires you see your doctor and get on medication).
Of course it appears their true intent is to get you to believe you have a serious "LOW T" health problem that can be medically treated ( these kind of test are the worst kind of shame marketing schemes we face today; since they take a possible serious rare medical condition and try to make it a wholesale main stream diagnostic pandemic that must be treated. They blatantly create and market disease, then create a need "that where you the consumer comes in" that they just happen to have a potentially dangerous, but expensive/profitable wonder drug under patent to treat).
They use the same tired old "smoke and mirrors" approach over again and again while still trying to appear on the edges "balanced". Let me just cut and paste portions of the results I received from their self test here, and you can answer for yourself whether this screening appears misleading, ludicrous, and totally biased in favor of broadening the diagnosis of Low T to the masses for nothing more that dangerous and unethical profiteering?
OK, my total score says "I'm clean" with no symptoms of "LOW T". But do you think that is going to stop WebMD and the drug makers from twisting my good results into a sales pitch anywise. Just read on and see how they use a magicians slight of hand in their marketing efforts.
* Total Score: You likely have no or little overall negative effect related to your testosterone level.
then here come the fastball pitch "strike one"
Your Health Score is 49 out of 50 points
Then comes more good news
"YOUR MEDICAL HISTORY It's wonderful that you do not have any existing medical conditions. Congratulations to you for maintaining your good health! It's also wonderful that you understand that your sexual health is an important part of your overall good health. "
Followed by how my good health can be medicated into the "better range" by "Low T" treatments. Nothing quite like planting the wellness seeds of malcontent. "Strike Two"
"HOW TESTOSTERONE IS ADMINISTERED A wide variety of prescription medications are used to treat low testosterone and erectile dysfunction. Testosterone replacement therapy medications are available as creams, gels, under-the-skin implants, injections, patches, and pills. There are some potential side-effect concerns when treating a low testosterone level, including growth of the prostate gland or a potential increased risk of prostate cancer, and breast tenderness and enlargement. (Men who have prostate cancer or male breast cancer should not be given testosterone replacement therapy at all.) Other side effects include reduced testicle size and decreased sperm production; acne and baldness; development or worsening of sleep apnea; and overproduction of blood, which can stress the heart; and liver abnormalities. A doctor should make sure that potential benefits of therapy for you outweigh potential risks from treatment, and monitor your levels of testosterone while you are on treatment."
Then comes my bad health news for my supposed great symptom free health?
"Strike Three" and your "OUTED"
Your Well-Being Score is 22 out of 25 points
This is followed by a the whole list of possible treatments I should pursue while I'm waiting to get into my Low T doctor for the real deal medication treatment.
Let us remember that I reported no adverse symptoms in this supposed "health check".
This screening test was supposedly thoroughly reviewed by Brunilda Nazario, MD?????? ( Nice going modern medicine and WebMD. Doctor's opinions and endorsements have now become just as cheap, unreliable, and seedy as "door to door sales people", "telephone solicitors", "politicians", and "used car salesmen")
